In farcical scenes in Parliament today the Premier effectively sought to argue that black was white.
His assertions that he didn’t mislead the House over this matter in the face of evidence to the contrary are nothing short of embarrassing.
The Premier was today given 12 opportunities to explain to the House why he hadn’t mislead it, and why he had ignored the advice given by Acting Commissioner Hine, and he failed to do so.
We will look closely at new information revealed today, and we will ask further questions of the Premier tomorrow.
If he again fails to answer the questions we put, and fails to explain himself adequately, then he will face the consequences.
The Premier’s performance in the Parliament today shows that he is a fraud when it comes to improving government accountability and transparency.
