THE top brass of the public service may have to forgo their expensive European cars.
The State Government yesterday circulated a new senior public servant lease vehicle list which does not include the Mercedes, Audi, BMW and Volvo marques.

Instead, the public servants will be allowed the Mazda 3, Ford Mondeo and Subaru Liberty.

The move is part of senior executive cost-cutting announced in last month’s State Budget.

The highest paid members of the Senior Executive Service will have to pay an extra premium if they want to hold on to their luxury cars.
