Refugee rights groups and the Greens have criticised Labor frontbencher Anthony Albanese for saying he has changed his opposition to boat turnbacks.

In an interview with Sky News on Tuesday, Albanese said “the government’s policies have stopped the boats” would introduce “no change in terms of people who arrive by boat, they wouldn’t be settled in Australia”.
