The Tasmanian Greens Leader Nick McKim MP today said the latest voting intentions survey by EMRS (Liberals up, Greens down in latest poll, ABC Online here) ... again highlighted the volatility of political opinion polls.

“The Greens are not a poll-driven Party. We will always act based on our values and what we believe is right, no matter what the polls are saying,” Mr McKim said.

“We don’t place a great deal of emphasis on the result of political opinion polls, regardless of whether we’re going up or down.”

“Our focus remains squarely on delivering stable government, achieving Green policy outcomes through the Parliament, and ensuring that Tasmania’s economic transition continues.”

“The Greens were up in the polls a similar amount five months ago, and we went down this time around so what this data really highlights is the inherent volatility of political opinion surveys.”
