The Tasmanian Government comprehensively rejects the findings of the Productivity Commission report.
Today I was briefed by the Productivity Commission on the findings of its report and I expressed my disappointment to the Productivity Commission directly and that I do not accept their findings because of the significant impact it would have on Tasmania.
That’s why the Premier and I have been working with the Prime Minister and the Federal Treasurer to ensure Tasmania gets a good outcome and that we are not worse off.
What’s important now is the Federal Government’s response and I welcome the Prime Minister’s comments today that the Federal Government has rejected the recommendation put forward by the Productivity Commission as well and that all states will be better off than they are now under the Federal Government’s proposal.
