This year the Judbury market has successfully traded through it’s first ever winter. The next market, held on Sunday November 10, would normally be the start of the Market season in Judbury. Market Co-ordinator Tony Laing said “This year we decided that we would trial running the Market over Winter inside The Upper Huon Community Centre. I am so happy we did because it has been an overwhelming success. ”
Traditionally the Judbury Markets have been an outdoor Market, however with the success of the Winter Market, the Upper Huon Community Centre will now be incorporated into the Market over the warmer months, making the Market both indoor and outdoor. This means that the Judbury Market’s going to be bigger and better than ever before.
To celebrate the traditional starting date of the Market there is going to be plenty of live music. Kevin will be there entertaining market goers with his ever popular songs and there is going to be a special performance from local duo Twice Bitten. Twice Bitten are a Folky-Country Duo Consisting of Anne Patricia Parsell (Vocals/Guitar) and Mathew Woolley (Vocals/Guitar). “You will not want to miss these performances” said Laing.
The Market’s famous curries, Devonshire tea and BBQ will be available, however salad wraps and Judbury Burgers will be added to the menu. The Judbury Market has something for everyone. It’s beautiful location in Calvert Park makes it family friendly. There is a variety of stalls selling things such as crafts, jewellery, clothing, plants, local produce, Dutch pofitjjes, jams, sauces and baked goods. “We have so many interesting stalls, stalls such as Homefarm products, Mountain River Youghurt, NutznMore, Cindy’s Cottage crafts and Mona lisa Face painting.” Laing went on to say.
