TasWater advises that the Department of Health (DoH) has lifted the Boil Water Alert (BWA) for Deloraine.
Test results indicate the water being supplied to TasWater customers meets the standards of both the Tasmanian Drinking Water Quality Guidelines (TDWQG) and the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG).
TasWater has also carried out changes to the operation of the Deloraine Water Treatment Plant as a means of preventing a reoccurrence of the situation which led to the introduction of the BWA Alert last week.
This means Deloraine customers are able to consume water from their household taps without having to boil it first with immediate effect.
TasWater will continue to provide ongoing monitoring and testing to demonstrate water quality meets the drinking water guidelines.
TasWater appreciates the cooperation of the Deloraine community and acknowledges it has been inconvenient for the duration of the BWA during the last seven days, but assures everyone that the priority has been to protect the health of the community.
Residents are currently being alerted to the lifting of the need to boil their drinking water with TasWater staff delivering notices door to door.
