For readers young in years or young at heart ...

You are invited to the launch, with MC Les Winspear, of Lian Tanner’s new children’s novel, Accidental Heroes — the first in her brand new series, The Rogues.

If you’ve been to one of our launches in the past with Lian Tanner (perhaps for one of the novels in her previous series, The Keepers), you’ll know they’re no ordinary events! And if you haven’t been before, you’re in for a treat. As the author herself has been known to say, ‘Expect the unexpected’...

Free event, all welcome. Especially bears (of the stuffed variety please, as sadly the State Library doesn’t have a zoo permit); the fiercer the better!

The first book in the Rogues trilogy, Accidental Heroes tells the story of two children, Duckling and Pummel, who are caught up in a plot to kill the Heir to the Faithful Throne. It’s a vividly exciting fantasy-adventure set in the same world as the best-selling Keepers trilogy, with characters you will love and characters you will loathe.

For more about Lian Tanner and her work (there are even some games related to her books!), you can visit her lovely website.
Where: The State Library of Tasmania (Murray Street)
