WHARVES, supported by “Ewah and the Vision of Paradise” AND “Prickly Grapes”

Lennox Head-based indie-rock quartet, WHARVES have had a huge 2017.

Members Matt, Mike, Scott and Fraser formed the band only 2 years ago whilst studying music at Uni in Lismore and Byron Bay.

In July 2017, they won the triple J Unearthed comp to play Splendour in the Grass and opened the Festival which was headlined by their musical heroes Royal Blood and Queens of the Stone Age.

Taking their inspiration from a wide range of bands including Joy Division, The Strokes, Foals, Duran Duran, City Calm Down, WHARVES have developed a world class live show and they are renowned for their powerful, yet danceable, guitar heavy, post-punk tunes.

This reputation has seen them sought out for support gigs with some of the nation’s top bands including Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Good Boy and Ocean Alley.

A meeting with Maddy Jane earlier this year saw a polite demand that they add Tasmania to their tour and WHARVES agreed and say they are “super excited” for their first gig in Hobart.

WHARVES’ latest single released in August “Love Decide” has received wide acclaim, plays on triple j and great support from community radio.

Last week WHARVES’ played and impressed at the prestigious “Bigsound” music conference and festival in Brisbane and are on the line up for “Festival of the Sun” in Port Macquarie in December (headlined this year by Ball Park Music).

The recent buzz about WHARVES has seen them join the dynamic “123 Agency” which books Tash Sultana, Kingswood and Killing Heidi to name a few.

Don’t miss WHARVES show it promises to be fantastic.
