Colours of Autumn in the Derwent Valley: Yesterday … with a side-serving from Forestry Tasmania.

In response to Robin Halton’s comment (below), this photo (above) was taken this evening at 5:22pm showing the Black Hills from the Gretna side and is what FT is subjecting the residents of the middle Derwent Valley and New Norfolk to for an atmosphere to endure for tonight at least. Breathing this crap is far, far worse than the visual, believe me. Staying indoors isn’t even a way to avoid this smoke.

I doubt any Hobart resident would congratulate or applaud his neighbour for providing continuous conditions like this from a backyard rubbish fire without complaint to the local council at least, so it’s nonsensical expect residents of the Derwent Valley to just cop this bullshit from their neighbour without comment or complaint.

This is mostly a timber workers and farming community, so FT is largely doing this to its own people and their families.
