Visiting Poet Ignatius McGovern will warm up the audience for the Poetry Cup with his humourous Irish verse8.30 It’s on! The seminal event of the Festival, now in its 20th year, the Launceston Poetry Cup throws open the challenge to any willing poet: if you can generate the loudest audience response in under a minute with your poem, the silverware is yours. Open to everyone and anyone! It’s loud, it’s contagious, it’s the most fun you’ll ever have in verse.
