A LARGE Georgian house, claimed to be the oldest continually occupied private residence in Australia, is to be sold and the proceeds donated to research into preventable children’s diseases. Paddy Pearl, 84, the widow of acclaimed editor, author and television panellist Cyril Pearl, has listed her home of 15 years, Campania House, near Richmond in Tasmania, together with its furnishings, a library of 5000 books and Pearl’s letters, archives and memorabilia. She will donate most of the money from the sales to the Melbourne-based Walter and Eliza Hall Institute for Medical Research.
